dnsperf Solaris Installation

INTRODUCTION

The Solaris distribution of dnsperf contains the following Solaris
package:

           dnsperf-2.0.0.0.1-sol10-x86_64

STEP-BY-STEP INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Use the following steps to install resperf and dnsperf:

    1. If you have not already done so, download the package's
       compressed tar file and extract the contents.  This creates a
       dnsperf-2.0.0.0-1 directory.

           shell# gunzip dnsperf-2.0.0.0-1-solaris-10-x86_64.tar.gz
           shell# tar xf dnsperf-2.0.0.0-1-solaris-10-x86_64.tar

    2. From the directory you unpacked the distribution in, execute
       the following commands as root:

           shell# cd dnsperf-2.0.0.0-1
           shell# pkgadd -d dnsperf-2.0.0.0.1-sol10-x86_64

       You may find it convenient to add /usr/local/nom/bin to PATH,
       and/or add /usr/local/nom/man to MANPATH.

UNINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

If you wish to uninstall dnsperf, follow these steps:

    1. Remove the package, execute the following command as root:

           shell# pkgrm NOMdnsper

UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS

To upgrade your version of dnsperf, simply follow the UNINSTALLATION
and INSTALLATION instructions above.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Please note that at this time Nominum software is only supported when
installed in the default location.
